"The SmartResilience platform was easy to use, fast and thorough. Their one click climate resilience reporting and longer-term climate resilience mapping is a no-brainer for any business with multiple sites, especially food businesses like ours." - Alun Lewis, Head of Sustainability

About Meadow

Meadow is a forward-thinking expert in sustainable dairy, confectionery, and plant-based ingredients, with 5 sites across the UK and a £500m turnover.

What was at stake?

A growing desire from internal and external stakeholders to ensure Meadow understood its climate risks led to the adoption of a climate resilience program. Understanding climate related risk was also vital for securing Environmental Permits for their multiple sites from the Environment Agency.

Why they wanted to work with us

Initially, Meadows’ Head of Sustainability, Alun Lewis, was intrigued by the SmartResilience platform’s quick and simple climate resilience reporting tool. As interest grew from external stakeholders and the wider business, the desire to forecast and mitigate long term climate impacts with our data-led system grew.

The result

After a brief onboarding and just a few hours of discussion with the Meadow team, climate risks reports were prepared and a staged long-term climate risk mitigation roadmap, operational risk and alerting measures were created by our experts, supporting crucial permits to be issued and protective action to be taken for higher risk sites.
