SmartResilience, the climate risk management software company helping organisations manage and reduce climate-related physical risk, today announced that Carole Brożyna has joined the company as Board & Strategic Resilience Advisor.
Carole is an independent board director, senior advisor and former Chief Sustainability Officer and Operating Partner, with more than 20 years of experience helping global organisations navigate strategy, transformation, sustainability and risk. She has held senior executive roles across listed, family-owned and private equity-backed businesses, including IKEA, JCDecaux, Opella (formerly Sanofi Consumer Healthcare) and Bridgepoint, working across sectors with significant physical assets, complex operations and international footprints.
Most recently, Carole was Operating Partner and Chief Sustainability Officer at Bridgepoint, where she worked across the investment lifecycle and supported a portfolio of more than 80 companies on sustainability, transformation, risk and value creation. She previously served as a Non-Executive Director of Bertrand Franchise and as a member of its Financial and Extra-Financial Risk Committee.
Earlier in her career, Carole was Group Chief Sustainability Officer at JCDecaux, operating across more than 80 countries, Chief Sustainability Officer at IKEA France, and Global Head of Sustainability at Sanofi Consumer Healthcare. Across these roles, she worked at the intersection of strategy, operations, finance, risk and sustainability - translating complex long-term challenges into decisions, investment priorities and operational action.
Her appointment reflects SmartResilience’s growing ambition to embed physical climate risk at the heart of board governance and investment decision-making. As physical climate risks increasingly affect asset values, business continuity and long-term returns, the company is working to ensure that its risk intelligence reaches not just sustainability and operations teams, but the boards, investors and capital allocators who determine how resilience is prioritised and funded.
